A complete detail of the tests taken in the ISSB from my experience
The selection technique followed by the ISSB is three dimensional. All the candidates appearing before the ISSB are to take three different types of tests, which are Psyche Tesy, GTO Test and interview. These tests are administered by the Psychologists Officers, Group Testing Officers and the Deputy President who are specialists in their respective fields. In the conference a joint decision is taken about each candidate after detailed and careful deliberations.

DAY THREE (Group tests, interviews):
The candidates are divided in to groups on this day; each group containing around 6 to 7 candidates. A GTO (Group Test Officer) is assigned separately for each group who assess your left over tests plus the character.
The GTO gives the welcome address to his group and then takes them to the group discussion room. The group is given first an Urdu topic then English on which they have to exchange the views among themselves for around 15 mins. The topics given are chosen from our surroundings, the current development/ problems of our country, etc
Eg: - Our media, films and the censor board.
After these two group discussions, the respective group is taken to another room where another officer judge their another ‘informal’ discussion.
Eg: - Aurat ki taraqqi mein samaaj ki ruqawatein.
The GTO then takes the group for the group planning in which a model is shown to the whole group. The GTO explains the necessary information available in that model and then the group is given a fixed time like 15 mins to solve the mission collectively.
Eg: A model which shows different tracks for railways and roads. Some roads are broken. There are some important places which have to be protected at different points. A particular kind of transport is made available for the lodging of soldiers. The roads are marked in km/ miles. The group is then given a situation under which they are told to drop soldiers at points in the required time. (There could be many situations and different models).
This test is rather easy but requires quickness of mind and calculations. And only the calm minds can solve these missions if they do not hipper.
The GTO asks his group to dress in the track suit then for the outdoor group tasks. After the group gets dressed, it reports at the Testing Hall and then the GTO comes to take them to the Physical area.
A particular mission is given the group; this time the nature of this mission is physical. The GTO once again explains the candidates about the in-bound and out-of-bound areas in the particular area in which they have to perform their physical task. This task is also easy and with in short time, the candidates are required to communicate with each other properly to finish up their task in time.
The Half Group Task is then given to the half of the group, which is similar in nature like the first group task; the only difference is, the number has been reduced to half and the obstacles are less.
The GTO then asks the group to go back to their rooms and the individuals get themselves dressed in the appropriate dresses for the interviews. With that the tasks with GTO are over.
The candidates wait for their turns in the Testing Hall for the interviews. The durations of their interview could last from 25 mins to more than 90 mins depending upon the response from the individual.
The Deputy President who takes the interview ask very easy questions related to your personality, a few general knowledge questions and some questions regarding the subjects you have previously studied. He is very pleasant all through the interview and so the candidate should also not try to feel uncomfortable. The more you feel relaxed, the more are the chances that you would answer in a better way.
SUMMARY:
1- Group Discussions- 3 topics
2- Group Planning
3- Progressive Group Task
4- Half Group Task
5- Interviews
DAY 5 (Conference Day):
A final meeting is held between all the officers including the GTOs, the psychology officers, and the intelligence. Some candidates are also called for the re-interviews.
Finally, the candidates are free to go back to their homes around 2’O clock after the meeting is over.

DAY FOUR (Outdoor physical activities- Command tasks, Individual obstacles, Final Group Task)
The candidates report at the Testing Hall in their track suits. The GTOs take their groups to the task areas.
The GTO selects once commander from his group and takes that candidate to his mission field. After he has explained the candidate, the particulars of the mission, the commander is given one minute to design a plan for the mission. After the minute is over, the commander calls out his/her group loudly and they jog to their commander; the time of 8 mins for the completion of the mission has already begun. The commander quickly tells them about the plan and then they precede a/c to that plan.
After the task is over, a new commander takes the place and the GTO takes him/ her to another mission. In the same way all the candidates of the group are given a turn to command their group.
Next is Individual Obstacles (IOs). The GTO first explains in detail all the obstacles and then one by one the candidate comes to this field. The obstacles are to be crossed in the particular time like 9 obstacles in 2 mins. The obstacles are extremely easy for the courageous candidates but the ones who are scared of wounds or whether they will get hurt, face difficulty in crossing these obstacles.
After all the candidates have gone through the IOs, the GTO takes his group for the Final Group Task which is similar to the first Progressive group task. The only difference is the candidates are required to speak English among themselves in this task.
A 20m final race is held b/w two groups. (I am not sure about the race for the male candidates).
All the tests are finished with Day 4.
SUMMARY:
1- Commander Task
2- Individual obstacles
3- Final Group Task
